Jewell Santos

In 2013, at just 19 years old, Jewell traveled from Canada to the Amazon for the first time.
She arrived with curiosity — and left forever changed.

What she encountered was not just poverty. She saw children living without protection, exposed to abuse, exploitation, hunger, and neglect. She heard stories that no teenager should ever hear. And she realized something that would shape the rest of her life:

For these children, help was not optional — it was urgent.

Jewell returned to Canada, but the Amazon never left her heart.
Instead of trying to forget what she had seen, she chose to prepare herself.

For the next five years, she worked, studied, and equipped herself — with one thing in mind:
to return, not as a visitor, but as someone willing to stay and make a difference.

In 2020, she moved permanently to Brazil to serve river communities in the Amazon — living simply, learning the culture, and standing beside children who had been forgotten by almost everyone.

Abner was born and raised in the Amazon.

At the age of 16, he experienced a strong calling to reach the lost in Brazil and beyond.
That calling shaped every major decision of his life. He grew up helping his father to planting churches in the interior of the Amazon, he was little but a big dreamer. His passion for music and teaching took him to ministry in many other places in Brazil, Europe, Asia and Middle East.

In 2014 Abner quit his promised executive career in a Multi National Company and went to serve full-time in missions, working across Brazil and in several other countries — preaching the Gospel, discipling leaders, translating, coordinating teams, and building bridges between cultures.

But his deepest burden has always remained the same:
unreached communities, vulnerable families, and children growing up without hope or direction.

His understanding of the Amazon is not theoretical.
He knows the rivers, the challenges, the cultural dynamics, the dangers, and the resilience of the people.

When Their Stories Merged

In 2021, God did more than unite two people in marriage.
He united two callings (purpose)

Abner’s passion to reach the lost with the Gospel
and Jewell’s passion to fight child abuse, human trafficking, and injustice came together into one clear mission.

They realized that:

preaching without protection leaves children vulnerable
protection without hope leaves families broken
and aid without discipleship rarely leads to lasting transformation.

That is when Wild Reach was born.

Not as a reaction to a crisis —
but as a long-term commitment to reach, restore, and send.
